Been using these for years with the Lee .30 caliber bullets. They fit great and cost less than others. Also, there is no need to use a separate crimping tool, they crimp in place just by running them through the sizing die as normal.

Bought over 5k+ of these gas checks and they installed and crimped on no problem on the heel of a powder coated lee .312" 160 grain cast bullet using the lee .311 sizing die. Works great with sizing with the .309 sizing die as well. I've ran these in semi-autos, and clocking them 2000+ fps using WW lead/range scrap hardness lead with decent accuracy and no leading. Well worth it!
When sizing, ~.004"+ under, I noticed a bit of flashing being produced around the checks, but they don't seem to affect performance. To alleviate this, I either size and gas check in two steps (i.e. pass through .311 then .309) or apply a tad bit of case lube so the cast will pass through the sizer a bit easier. This is by no means a problem with the gas checks themselves.

love these, this is my second order and there will be a third soon. I put these on reduced loads military rifles, Arisaka, Mosin-Nagant and Krag. But I use the copper ones in 32 caliber, because not made yet. I use all Lee molds.

did a test with these vs cu found no difference in point of aim. Both cu and al checks are premier better than the other guys with the red boxes. As I shoot 200 to 300 rifle round various cal, I will soon be buying more, I like to test different powders and loads on .308, .311, .323, .329, .45, .458
Just hope we can get some inventory. Since finding Sage's Outdoors I cannot be happier. Thank you for a fine product at reasonable prices. terry

They are just as good as copper gas checks but lighter. This makes the bullet closer to it cast weight.

Get it, use it, enjoy it. I personally chose this check for .30 cal needs as it gives a hint of room on .309 sized rounds powder coated. I cast .312 and size to .309 after powder coating. The checks fit very snug, crimp well.
My reason for the choice of 312 casting is I get .311 to .314 drop. This I load in 30-06, 300Sav, 7.62x54R, 7.62x39, 7.7Jap, 300Blk, 308 all of which shoot great, 90%+ weight retention on impact. I know this would not happen with out a great gas check.

i use these with 30-30 and 7.62x39 and they work great. i see no difference in the aluminum and copper except the cost. i am able to use near max loads with no leading. highly recomend
