 Product Description

Made from thin lithographic plate, the .44 caliber Plain Base gas checks are made to grip around plain base bullets. Care is needed when using these, we suggest orientating the base of the bullet first when sizing them on.  We have sized these up to .432.

The checks are sold in resealable clear plastic bags. USPS Ground Advantage and Priority services are used to reduce shipping cost. Most orders ship in one business day Monday through Friday.

    These are not a cure-all for putting a gas check on plain base. It requires some adaptive work to your sizing die, and bullets must be cast into cold water to shrink them down. Big fat soft Bullets won’t go through with the gas check. I was able to put them on 143 grain and 165 grain bullets that were hardened and shrunk in this way. This will work if you know how to do it and your patient. That said this was just my experience yours may be better

    These gas checks are the perfect answer to lead bullets with plain bases. I press them on using a .431 die and they fit exactly the way I had hoped. Great product and I WILL be ordering more.

    These plain base gas checks are the coolest things since metallic cartridge cases. Getting them on requires a bit of TLC since they are thin and the bullets weren't designed for them. But the results are amazing. No lead on the bore even when pushed hard. Velocity I never dreamed of AND good accuracy.
