.45 Caliber Shotshell Wad Kit
Product Description
Kit comes in two versions. One with thick and thin vegetable wads and a kit with vegetable powder wads and metal over shot wads. The metal over shot wad is more recoil resistant when your loading with shotloads and normal ammunition. Metal over shot wads are good when you load your cylinder with a few bullets for larger varmints. Recoil from the normal ammunition could dislodge shot loads with only vegetable wads. So, you can choose between the two over shot wads.
Each kit contains 50 powder wads and 50 over shot wads.

Excellent Product for Snake Loads!

So far, I've purchased the .32 Kit, .38/357 kit, and the .45 Colt Kit. I'm waiting for the .44 kit to be back in stock.
I'm very pleased with the .38 Special load using 100 grains of #9 shot. The .45 Colt loaded with 180 grains of #9 is superb!
I'm working up a load for my SP-101 in .327 Magnum next.
NRA TV has a superb article loading revolver snake loads in .45 Colt. When you see the pattern from using #12 shot, you will want to move from #9, to #12 shot for your snake / rat loads.
All of my purchased kits have been "metal and veggie". This allows me to try out the aluminum gas checks on some of my cast bullets for fit. These aluminum gas checks fit my lyman 454485 cast bullets perfectly. I'll be ordering bulk gas checks next.
Suggestion: Find a supplier for #12 shot.

I used the Vegetable and metal wad shotshell kit & loaded it over some old 700X powder that /i had laying around. Amazed by how well they shot. Will be buying more in the future.

I found this kit while looking for bullets. After receiving the kit I loaded per instructions and now have a new snake gun.

Purchased this kit as a turnkey solution for rat abatement. This kit lends itself to making .45 LC shot shells for use out of a .45 LC lever gun. Hand loaded with a Lee "cowboy" press, I am able to saturate 7 3/4" paper targets, vaporize target clays and perforate steel cans with #9 bismuth shot at approximately 5-10' using these gas checks and wads. I highly recommend this product and will buy again.

Great Wads

I used these wads as the over the powder wads in 45 ACP shot shells and they worked great. Because their diameter is large that the neck I pressed the wads in with an arbor press and because the wads are larger I got a better seal than using the 41 caliber wads. The wads could be pressed in with a dowel.
