These stay on and are the best surface finish of any I've ever used. The extra quality in the finished product is visibly noticeable.

After going through the sizing die they are still very loose.
Sage's Outdoors: Your shanks should be about .458".

The 50 caliber gas checks I ordered are excellent and the craftsmanship is superb. Couldn’t ask for better merchandise.

Shoot a lot. I have four SMITH & WESSON 500s one 6 inch to 8 1/4 inch and 114 inch barrels I shoot about 3000 rounds a year and when the guns were down I turn them into Smith for a check out make sure the timing is good on and on it goes. So what I’m saying is the bullet molds I had before were custom-made because I was the first kid on the block. When these first came out there wasn’t much stuff available for them so I had a machinist custom make me two molds. He told me to use only pure linotype which I found lots of it In pure line form so with that said I could share it 1700 ft./s without any leading also no shrinkage in the mold because it was made precisely at .500 since then I’ve bought molds different weights. Hornady used to make gass checks, but discontinued 50 caliber. I found sage is making new the gas checks no, difference in accuracy, but the big thing is the man that owns and runs the company. He is fantastic, very knowledgeable. I’ve been reloading all kinds of weapons for 40 years I don’t buy pistol ammo, haven’t in decades except for my CCW GUNS I’m told not to use reloads. Legal matters with that said talking to him about Casting I learned a few other tricks this fella is absolutely awesome great company great gas checks silver lining in a grey cloud due to the fact at the time Hornady discontinued 50 caliber gas checks sending me To sage hallelujah
